I have finally got around to opening an online store for my hand-crafted small frivolities!

I know why I kept putting it off; it’s because it is a massive pain in the backside. I absolutely love making things; there’s nothing better than spending days rolling paper beads or threading those beads onto wire for various projects. The problem is having to take photographs of the finished things from all kinds of different angles. Having to measure them, weigh them and the worst of all – having to write up appealing sounding descriptions without letting people think they are getting a Fabergé egg for under a tenner.

Definitely not Fabergé eggs

You can’t say silver or gold without qualifying it with the word “coloured”, or worse, “toned”. I mean, you can have made the loveliest thing but once it’s broken down into a list of its components it can sound dull and prosaic. On the other hand you don’t want to overblow it and make it sound like the finest unicorn horn. It can really suck all the joy out of making things.

Definitely not the finest unicorn horn.

However, I have made a lot of things and I cannot keep them, I must make space so that I can make more things and I may as well use the things that I have made to fund the next lot.

I’ve gone with Numonday, they are U.K. based (Glasgow to be precise) and it has been very simple to set up. I had a query about connecting my social media because the options were for the Meta sites and the bird one and I only have Bluesky. I had a reply within the hour telling me that Bluesky support had been added. Not only that but I was thanked for my question and told that if there were any other settings that didn’t fit with the way that I worked to simply let them know. Which is some top service!

Anyway, the link to the store is https://www.numonday.com/shop/lol-deville/ There are only a few things added at the moment but I am continuing to add stuff every day. It's keyrings and bag charms at the moment but I will be adding phone wristers and bangles which I already have and will be making some other small bits and bobs too. I think I will add some bags of paper beads too as I have several (thousand).

Please do go and have a look and let me know what you think, I'd really appreciate it.
