For some years now I have needed to wear glasses for reading and “close work” as the optician puts it. This is due to “age-related macular degeneration”, or I’m getting old and my eyesight’s going to put it in layman’s terms. This is mostly fine (except my skin doesn’t like it and most frames hurt my nose but whatever), until I need them and they are in another room. This is a thing which happens a lot as I can’t wear them to walk around because they make the ground look a bit wobbly and it’s a bit vomit-inducing. The solution then is to wear them round my neck. I have a thin black cord which is functional but not very aesthetically pleasing. So why not make something a bit nicer.

A collection of bits and bobs. I've used rounded beads for comfort.

I wonder if those rubber loopy things have a name 🤔

Basically what I’ve done here is I’ve made a necklace but instead of a fastening clasp I’ve added one of those rubber loop things to either end to fit them to my glasses. Simple.

This is the first one that I made (in 2019 😮) It was a bit heavy and far too long. I'm still using those same glasses though so I haven't degenerated too much.

I’ve actually made a few of them over the past few years, then the other day I thought why not put them in the shop? So the latest one has been listed and I think I’ll make a couple more to sell.

This the one in the shop.
